History
GEMS is the fruit of the prayers of two medical missionaries who served in Dehri on sone, Bihar.
Sister. Caroline Paint, Sister. Sylvia Beavdwell, Sister. Olive Jarvis and Sister. Joy Bath (Elim Missionary Society, England) were the pioneers in medical ministries in Dehri-on-sone, Bihar.
In 2002 by the support of brother Heiner (Swiss), God strengthened us to establish a 100 bedded hospital, which was inaugurated by Mr. Lallu Prasad Yadav and then Chief minister of Bihar Mrs. Rabari Devi.
Foundation of Hospital
In 1991 GEMS Hospital was established by the support of the children of an orphanage in Swiss.
25 bedded hospital - Started with one administrator and 2 nurses
From year 2000 onwards regular medical work like OPD, In Patient surgeries, deliveries and emergencies were provided to the people from the villages living around the hospital.
The early medical mission of GEMS was very much supported by

CMC (Christian Medical College) Hospital, Vellore
CSI hospital Neyyor and Nagercoil
EHA Hospitals of North India
Medivision and other Christian medical institutions.
First Decade 1994-2004
1994 - 2002
Beginning of medical mission & establishment of hospital to give primary health care.
Establishment Of Satellite Clinics
Establishment of Pharmacy ,X-ray & Lab
2002 - 2004
ESTABLISHED Multi speciality hospital with facility to provide secondary level care.
Establishment of DENTAL & Physio department
Partnership with other mission hospitals in India
Beginning of ANM nursing school.
Contribution by many doctors from India & Abroad.

Decline in our functions due to lack of human resources but GOD faithfully reestablished.

More Staffs joined in our team.

Achievements & Impact Which is in Today
Basic medical and surgical facilities to the missionaries and the people living from surrounding villages
Free eye surgeries for about 3000 patients every year
Helped in the training of 135 ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery) students of GEMS Nursing School in providing them opportunity for practical training and thereby equipping them to fulfill the medical needs of people
15,000 primary school students were vaccinated in Bihar, Jharkand and UP
